San Diego Comic Con 2024 Recap

And that's a wrap! Oh, what a fantastic time it was returning to San Diego for Comic-Con. Our weekend started with the Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. panel, moderated by Christopher Carey and featuring Jim Sullos, Cathy Wilbanks, and the incredibly talented Joe Jusko. Speaking of talent, we had the pleasure of attending with Daren Bader, who mentioned that there were original Frazetta pieces in the exhibit hall. He also mentioned that Frank Cho was handling one, so I asked Daren, "Do you think they would let me hold it?" :)

Daren led us to the exhibit hall, and we managed to take a group photo (Daren behind the lens) holding Frank Frazetta's original "The People That Time Forgot," also known as "Captive Princess." It was serendipitous to hold the painting alongside our friends at Edgar Rice Burroughs.

After we marveled over Captive Princess we visited our friends at the nearby Metropolis Gallery booth and held the original "Bloodstone" painting. That painting had been sold by my grandparents in the early 2000s so it's been quite some time since I've seen it in person and it was glorious! Also on the floor -DARKWOLF!v F razetta Girls & FandomWorld displayed the NEW & NEVER BEFORE SEEN 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐰𝐨𝐥𝐟 𝟏:𝟏𝟐 𝐏𝐗 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 at Diamond/Previews FandomWorld Booth #2401! SO COOL!

Later that evening I joined my friends at Heroic Signatures for a gathering! It was such a good time to see so many familiar faces and celebrate the milestones our companies are reaching together and apart. It is always inspiring to be around the Conan team and I really wish we would have taken more pictures but I guess that's what happens when you are having a good time. Another highlight at the Heroic gathering was re-meeting Geof Isherwood and his beautiful wife, Amanda. We met many moons again at Tampa Comic Con and this time  we had more time to get to know each other. Geof graciously pulled out his original art panels for the Savage Sword Conan issue he is working on and it was breathtaking. I hope to be able to work with Geof soon, and that's all I'll say about that!

I could keep on rambling but I'll get to the finale now. On Saturday evening we had our Frazetta Conan panel! I saw some great friends (hi Steve) (hi Randall) (hi Jeff) (hi Trevor) as I walked to the room! Rob Salkowitz was our fearless moderator and we were joined by Fred Malmberg ( Conan Properties) Dan Panosian (Comic Artist) and Liam Sharp (Comic Artist & Painter.) It was such an energizing conversation about Frazetta's iconic depiction of Conan the Barbarian. We ended the conversation with an exclusive product preview - Our Frazetta Icon Collectible's Officially licensed Conan 1:12 Action Figure which will be available to pre-order September 2024!
Oh, and all of these great photos from the panel are courtesy of another talented human being, photographer, Mark Edwards!  Also, thank you to Tommy at World At War Comics for filming the panel. We will be uploading that to YouTube soon!
We ended Comic-Con with a fantastic dinner, more meetings with friends and I feel so fulfilled! We will be announcing our next con soon. To all I didn't get to see this time, I promise next time! Thank you SAN DIEGO! I LOVE YOU! -Sara
